Hear It Live It
Kurtis Moffitt, Youth Minister
Kurt & Glen

On a summer night in 1995 at a Christ In Youth (CIY) conference, I finally answered the call that had been pushing me towards ministry. For the first time I prayed out loud with my Youth Group and asked God to lead my life in the ministry I'm supposed to do. Little did I know that God had been already at work in the ministry I would take on.

I was already helping at Church Camp with the 1st-4th Graders. It was here the calling of working with kids began. Through the next four years I would continue fighting with God on what and where to do ministry.

Soon after the summer night I gave my life over. I was accepted to Dallas Christian College where I would spend the next five years earning a degree in Bible. While attending DCC I was involved in soccer, basketball, and helped with drama and ministry teams. During my first year, I realized it was Youth Ministry that God had called me into. One night while my youth minister was having a meeting with the elders, I "happened" to overhear that there was a tremendous need for Junior High ministry, and without thinking I burst open the door and volunteered. I became the Junior High Minister/Intern for the next two years, before leaving my home church and taking a new approach by joining Northpoint Christian Church in Lewisville, Texas. For the next two years I studied and met with Mike Farra, the Youth Minister, to learn to do ministry more effectively.

During my five years at DCC, I met and fell in love with the woman of my dreams, Krysten Granger. Krysten graduated with a degree in Education, and soon after I worked up the nerve to ask her on a date. From then on it's been "the greatest rollercoaster ride ever." After graduating from DCC we both headed off to Shreveport, Louisiana to begin our first youth ministry. After two years we received a call from Cincinnati and have been here since August 2003.

Krysten and I welcomed Kendall Lorraine October 13th, 2004 and will soon welcome Isaac Lee Jonah on January 16th. With two dogs, a cat, turtle and a fish life is full of adventure and surprise!
